Eklavya Model Residential School‚ Pangi at Killar‚ District Chamba (H.P.) is a Government of India‚ Ministry of Tribal Affairs promoted 100% free Residential Educational institution for Meritorious Tribal students. EMRS System was created under Article 275/1 of the constitution of India for education and welfare of Tribal societies in India whereby eventually making it the most successful scheme of Government of India across Tribal Areas in India in uplifting lives and creating better society by education. Over 700 such Schools in India. Presently 248 EMRS Institutions are successfully running and being managed by State Societies.

We determine the achievements by the quality of life each student leads at present and in the future. We strive to imbibe cultural values among children so that they stay rooted no matter where they go.

The establishment of an egalitarian social order‚ free from all forms of discrimination whatsoever‚ has been a cherished goal enshrined in the constitution. Special care therefore has been bestowed on the disadvantaged section of the society‚ especially the simple tribal people to enable them to catch up with the rest as early as possible. Accordingly the constitution provide a comprehensive frame work for the protection and advancement of the Tribal people.

During the Ninth Five year plan the Govt. of India sanctioned its approval to establish 100 Eklavya Model Residential Schools in the Tribal Areas of the country‚ In this series of opening EMRS‚ Eklavya Model Residential School was Sanctioned in Year 2018. Eklavya Model Residential School‚ Pangi‚ Distt. Chamba is one of them‚ which is made operational in year‚ 2019.
